Abstract
On the morphology of the cerebellum of the alpaca (Lama pacos) The cerebella of ten adult alpacas were studied. The general dissection of the animals followed the usual dissection room method of the veterinary medical college. The cerebella were dissected by divulsion (careful pulling apart of its parts). The results agree only in general with the known cerebellar morphology of the majority of mammals. The rostral lobe was relatively large and was divided by four fissures into five smaller lobes. The cerebellar hemispheres could be subdivided into the following lobes: flocculus, paraflocculus, lobus paramedianus, lobus ansiformis and the lateral part of the lobus simplex. The lobus ansiformis was combined with the lobus paramedianus and formed a lobus ansiparamedianus which was the larges lobe of the cerebellar hemispheres. The fussura prima was especially deep and ran dorsoventrally.
