Abstract
The vibration in an electrical equipment is very common, especially in an overload condition, however, the failures caused by this failure mode are difficult to detect. In this opportunity a new methodology for detection and recognition is proposed with a real case study for 500 kV shunt reactors, with a finite element analysis, a design review recommendations and finally the monitoring and control by using the diagnosis gas analysis (DGA), chromatography analysis (Physical and chemistry analysis) and Furan. With this new methodology is easy to detect this kind of failure that can produce arcing at the bushing shield, discharge at the frame and flitch plate, abnormal electrostatic flux distribution or noise and vibration degradation with oil and Kraft fast degradation. This research has the following structure, in the section 2; a methodology is developed for the shunt reactor analysis. Later, in the section 3 a case study is indicated with the design and electromagnetic review with the oil diagnosis has been proposed, besides, in the section 4 has a discussion with the results and limits of the international standards. Finally, in the section 5 the conclusions and recommendations have been written for knowledge contribution in industrial companies and electrical utilities.
