The National University of San Marcos (UNMSM) has maintained a relationship of technical support for livestock with rural producers of Peru through Experimental Stations of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, which today are the Regional Development Centers (CDR). However, it is evident that the connection with the problems of society has been limited to the technical-entrepreneurial dimension of the livestock sector and the political-contextual or ethical-social dimensions were not considered. The possibility of creating the Local Action Group (GAL) in the province of Jauja, Junín region, Peru, with application of the Working With People metamodel, participation of Research Groups from UNMSM and CDR El Mantaro; With R + D + i e incorporation of IAR principles, it is seen as an innovative organizational structure that involves the population as a protagonist in solving their problems, and together with public and private actors, representative of the local socioeconomic actor, adequately trained in management and project management and solid ethical support, decide the planning and management of its territory. In this sense, the GAL is a structure that can improve the UNMSM's relationship with society, its decentralization and contribution to rural development with greater impact.
