Abstract
The genus Peyritschia is recorded from Peru for the first time, with two species involved, P. pringlei and P. deyeuxioides. The genus is described and a key to recognize it from the related genera Trisetum and Deschampsia is provided. P. pringlei and P. deyeuxioides are described, including synonymy, geographical distribution and habitat. These species are illustrated based on their vegetative and reproductive characters. Herbarium specimens are cited and a key to the two species is supplied.
